Shopping, Casserole and Futsal

Tuesday October 11
Pam performed her Laundry wallah, Dobby duties, first thing and was still in her nightie when the plumber arrived. The tradesmen at home are used to seeing her in her nightie by now and, the poolmen here have already done so too. At least she hasn't chased the binmen up the road, dragging the bin behind her here.....yet.
Zulu was out all night, for the first time, breaking the cat owners agreement. He's not allowed out after 6 in order to safeguard the indigenous animals. He was shattered this morning and only left his castle to eat.

Harry had a bad day yesterday. Someone in his ICE class swapped their partly charged tablet battery for Harry's full one so that his died in the middle of the work - they're punished for this. Sara has Emailed the teacher thank goodness, apparently it's rife - so why haven't they stopped it? Spoken like a true teacher ! Then he found that the screen on his IPod had shattered whilst it was in his pocket. Disaster. After food shopping in Bellbowrie and returning to make a beef casserole, we went to Indooroopilly Mall (Indra) to try and get it fixed, Sara said we could. No luck, we were sent from pillar to post.
Too tired to walk any more, we left a Canon PowerShot battery to be charged - brought 3 and forgot that one - and went for a SubWay lunch in the Food Court. An incredible number and variety of eat out food outlets in a huge semi circle, with tables and chairs filling the centre. We've never seen anytHing like it in the UK. Very USA I guess.
Tired of hanging around we went back for the battery and I bought a Canon Universal battery charger - charges all Canon batteries. Should save a few connections.
Shortly after arriving home, Mike went off to collect the sprogs. Josh is always hungry and was eating a chocolate cupcake within minutes, much to Pam's disgust. Once a PE teacher always a .......She didn't think he should be eating such stuff before playing a match.
It didn't seem to make any difference. The Futsal match was only a 5 minute ride away, in Moggill State School sports hall. Josh's team is the Bulldogs, all under 10s playing against under 13s. At kick off time, there were only two Bulldogs present for a 4.15 kick-off. The last one was still off the pitch when they started.
We really enjoyed the game. Despite the disparity in size, Bulldogs won 10-0. Josh played at the back in the first half and set up a goal, he was rather good, space aware and playing for the team.
He chose the photos which showed off his shoes best!

I was asked, by Josh, not to use flash as it was dazzling, that didn't help in a dark hall.
In the second half, it was his turn to play in goal - he didn't have much work to do.

They'd just scored the seventh goal at the other end

Home to cook tea, which was devoured by all, Josh had second helpings despite not liking gravy, nor potatoes, nor veggies. He ate the lot.
It's his 'celebration of learning' to-morrow night, when he takes part in a play. We're going. Harry had a good day to-day and is completing an assignment at the moment. Apparently he always does his homework unforced. Long may it last. We bought a silver marker pen and his tablet and battery have been marked. That should solve a few problems.
