A Domestic Day

Sunday Oct 2
Happy Birthday Aileen.
At last, a lie-in, no-one around until nearly 9 after a late night watching a film, Total Recall. Josh had forgotten that I'd said I'd make pancakes this morning, another positive. He was delighted that Harry played a game with him and then took him to Kenmore Village for shopping and a slurpy. Three years is a big gap at Harry's age. They were due to go on the bus but Mike took them and brought them home. Keeping a quiet eye on them I suspect.
We had a quiet morning...Pam gardened and I helped, trying to dig a hole so that we could plant a Grevillea. The ground is rock hard and full of roots, even soaking it only made it marginally easier. The hole we dug for Sara's lime tree and filled with water, never emptied, it's still full of water to-night. Mike did more of his favourite job, chopping things. He's still in the dog house for chopping back the mango tree and nearly all the flowers yesterday. He didn't realise what it was.
Mojo joins in everything - except when he's chasing butterflies and insects when he looks manic as he's never anywhere near them. He's still looking for them at ground level when they're several metres high. Both he and Zulu were mystified by noises on the porch roof... a Brush Turkey stomping along, Mojo loves to chase them.
I cooked to-night's meal. Pork chops in a cream and mushroom sauce. About an hour before dinner time Harry asked if his friend Jonno could stay for tea. If you share your meat sez I. Done sez he.
I watched Wales trounce Fiji in the Rugby World Cup in between preparations. Excellent 66-0 win.
Packing for Bundy to-night, shouldn't take long, we're not leaving until everyone's left for school/work. Gives the hot water tank time to fill up.
